I, Senthilkumar, born in 21.04.1977 in Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu, India. My father, Mr. A. Kalimuthu is a driver and mother
Mrs. K. Saroja is a housewife. Both were engaged in farming too. I have four elder sisters, all got married
and have children. When i was three years old, my family shifted to a small village called Anjamadai (where my grandparents
lived) in Ramanathapuram dist, Tamil nadu. I joined in Anjamadai elementary school in 1982,studied there for two years
and again readmitted in the Ramalinga vilas elementarty school in the near by town Paramakudi in 2nd standard in 1984. At
that time i stayed in my ungle's house for four years to complete my elementary school education.
Then I completed my secondary and higher secondary education in Secret Heart Higher Secondary School in Thiruvarangam.
In 1995, I joined in Agricultural College and Research Institute (Sub campus of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University), Killikulam,
Tuticotin district. Then worked in a NGO for one year in Melur and simultaneously did some computer courses in ECIL-BDPS,
Madurai.
Between 2000 to 2002, I completed my M.Sc studies in A.C&R.I, Madurai and TNAU, Coimbatore. I did my research
on SRI (System of Rice Intensification). In that period, I visited Wageningen University, The Netherlands.
In October 2003, I joined as a Ph.D student in Wageningen Univeristy, The Netherlands, in plant science department (Plant
Production Systems group) and continuing my Ph. D studies now.
Project : Design of rice-based integrated farming system for resource poor farmers to enhance farm
productivity in Tamil Nadu, India.
